the dutch know how to shoot a film wow.

what really blows my mind besides how incredibly well this film was made is how it was all funded by many european & dutch institutions. not hollywood. and the craziest thing is that it was fucking great.

not like nolan’s masterful “dunkirk”of course… but still a very solid film.

the cinematography, camerawork, sound design, production design, the cast, the costume design, literally every position was on point.

absolutely loved how brutal and cinematic the first attack on the bridge went down. easily my favorite sequence from the entire film besides the climax.

susan radder is absolutely gorgeous my god. marinus & william’s performance was incredible too. great actors, definitely want to see them on bigger productions.

i remember watching this a while back during covid when it hit netflix for the first time, but had to circle back and give it my official review.

highly recommend watching it in dutch with subtitles of course.
