The Forever Purge Reviews

The concept is alright but I feel like there just reusing the same basics, people defending themselves from purgers I wanna see a movie of the offensive side where they are breaking into innocents homes and shit like that

felt like a actual fan made movie

cool theme but when you spoon feed the viewers constantly it dumbs it down too much

The Forever Purge is simply the latest in this never-ending franchise to leverage the deep-seated unease in a politically divided America to peddle exploitative power fantasies. It’s decent, but in the grand scheme of things, it isn’t anything revolutionary.

movie was really poor done cgi was horrible and the plot of the show was kind of dumb there was a scene where they were running to the building and they were cleary shooting at nothing. rating 2/10

- Had a different story compared to the rest of the purges, but it was still pretty mid 🪓

❤️

honestly thought it would be like the other purge movies but it wasn't as good

I mean, it was OK conceptually but honestly, it should've just stopped after Election Year.

With the plot centered right here around the Texas border, this grabbed my attention while scrolling Peacock to find a film for weekend action. I like this; taking the Purge into broad daylight flips the script and turns the survival formula upside down.

The Director's Eye (What Worked):
• Daylight chaos makes it feel more like a gritty modern western than standard horror.
• Tenoch Huerta and Ana de la Reguera carry the emotional weight here, making me actually care whether they survive the crossfire.
• The El Paso street warfare gave me intense survival game vibes.

The Friction (What Didn't Click for Me):
• Preachy dialogue spoon-feeds social commentary instead of letting the story breathe.
• The villains are cartoon cutouts; “Alpha” is just loud and annoying without any real terrifying depth.

The Verdict:
I like it. Watch for a gritty survival flick. Skip it if you need subtle writing or hate on-the-nose commentary.

Yikes - what happened to the Purge films just being dumb, action-heavy fun?

Instead, doubling down each time since like the second film, get progressively more political, thinking they’re smarter than they really are. Everything is so “on the nose” in the worst, cringey and eye-rolling way imaginable. To be honest, I can’t tell if the dialogue is bad or if it’s being performed bad - likely both…

I was liking Will Patton in this, until he was no longer in it. Josh Lucas is a better actor than this, I’m not sure what his thought process was for taking this, but oh well.

Glad to be done with these films, I started months ago and held off of this one until now - wish I hadn’t bothered.
