this movie is one of the only movies that genuinely weirded me so out that I had to look away. for that reason I love it.

Interesting movie. I feel like the pacing was great, and that the characters and prosthetics were really good. But some scenes kinda weirded me out😅 still a solid classic movie. 7.9/10

Wow, what a gross move lol. Only the second Cronenburg film I’ve seen - the first being A History Of Violence, which is probably the outlier in the gory and fantastical stuff that fills his filmography. But I really enjoyed all the same.

This is kinda the ultimate Jeff Goldblum role; it compliments his ‘quirk’ in all the right ways. His little embodiments as the fly genetics take over were really quite impressive, especially paired with that fantastic makeup and effects. I was honestly expecting it to look almost laughable and dated - I was as very wrong, impressively gruesome.

Definitely wanting to check out more Cronenberg now, it’s two for two so far - let’s see what comes next.
