I may be in the minority of rankings here, but I just wasn't that impressed with it. The CGI was impeccable and the cinematography was decent, but the pacing of it was so scattered and forced. The vintage aesthetic was a cool concept, but the characters seemed pretty flat, especially Reid. It was entertaining in some parts and Galactus is a badass villain, but so much more could have been done with it. And the lady that Ben was sorta into that taught at the school?? We got no closure from it. I'll prob end up watching it again, but nothing to impressive as of now.
Favorite character: Ben even though his head looked like a mushroom in this one

Masterpiece, can't believe it took this long for the 4 to make their CINEMATIC DEBUT. Worth the wait

6.5/10 - Loved the retro 60s aesthetic but the pace was absolutely breakneck and some parts of the movie were kinda dumb

Poor writing. Over dramatic. Weak villain. No super hero fighting, and poor use of their powers.

6.5-7/10. lovedddd the 40s aesthetic, such a fresh breath of air. didn’t enjoy it as much as i thought i would tho for some reason :(. corny lines here and there. cast is fine. actors should be banned from getting botox tbh cause how does that work, your job requires emotion.

Actually fantastic spectacle! The art design of this world is great. All the characters felt real & compelling, their dynamic perfect which carried a story that is fairly straightforward (perhaps trimmed down). Parenthood does also give a unique spin to these renowned…

7/10. Is this a movie I’d be HYPED to rewatch? No. It had more potential that I feel wasn’t capitalized on. Definitely think there should’ve been more action. The acting was good and the plot was solid. I do feel like we could’ve seen more of Mr.Fantastic’s ability

Thoroughly enjoyed this. But I can’t stop comparing it to the original movies. I feel like the 2005 cast nailed their portrayals better than this one. Was hoping for Johnny to be the stuck up ladies man, but that wasn’t really the case.
Don’t get me wrong the movie was still great, I feel like the villain(s) were very solid and the setting was sick with the retro-futuristic look they were going for. Although I feel like the story moved a bit fast we could still feel some chemistry between the characters. Especially the bond between Mr. Fantastic and Sue because it felt… well... Y’all have seen the clips floating around.
I would recommend this to someone looking for a chill marvel flick that doesn’t add a whole lot of dimension to the entire marvel universe. Anyone can pick this up and understand what’s going on.
7.9/10.
Ps. Stick around for the mid credit scene, it’s sick. However the post credit was pretty unnecessary.

First Steps is easily the best Fantastic Four film to date. Finally, director Matt Shakman, four screenwriters and a new cast deliver the right combination of sci-fi drama, action, humor and likable characters to create a worthy vehicle for the superhero quartet.

7.3 - It’s not necessarily fantastic, but it’s still a pretty fun time.
It’s absolutely one of the better looking Marvel entries in a while, but I think the retro-futuristic look was underutilized & the setting could have had stronger influence.
The acting was solid, but I didn’t feel enough true leadership from Pedro Pascal to set up Reed Richard’s as the next lynchpin for the MCU. Every big decision & significant move came down to Vanessa Kirby’s Sue Storm - & she crushed her role! On the same note, Julia Garner’s Silver Surfer was much more intriguing & menacing than Ralph Ineson’s Galactus. I also felt like we were robbed of a lot more screen time for Ebon Moss-Bachrach’s Ben Grimm & his relationships both in and out of the F4 family.
Really this whole movie could have used an extra 20 minutes to develop characters, & let significant moments breathe. The pace was breakneck at times, jumping from emotion to emotion & battle to battle so fast it felt like something was missed, & ultimately like the entire story played it a bit too safe for what is meant to be a new launch point for a lot of significant future moments.
All in, it’s a solid entry in the MCU & will probably be a fun one to revisit after more projects arrive to fill in gaps, but the July 2025 super hero showdown definitely goes to DC.

Personally I’m disappointed in the love this movie is getting. Realistically the movie was mid and the only reason it’s holding onto being a “good” movie is because of the Easter eggs it left behind, it ties other movies cut scenes and involved Dr Doom, which does make me and other fans excited for the future marvel movies even after the washed movies and shows they’ve been releasing. Anyways as for the movie itself the characters hardly used their powers at all and even made Reid look weak to being stretched like that’s literally his power, Ben was about useless the whole movie and sue wasn’t anything special, Johnny carried the movie along with silver surfer but still him using powers with screen time was like 10 minutes maybe. And as for galactus this felt like a waste of a villain, he again hardly did anything and felt just wasted similar to gor the god killer in Thor. Each scene was so scattered the movie just didn’t feel entertaining the whole time. Again what props this movie up is mainly the theory’s people can make and relation to other cutscenes, my favorite being that this Reid is connected to the creation of the TVA which I love but unfortunately the entertainment factor of the movie did not do itself justice.

A solid Marvel entry. Is Marvel back? Idk, but I know Avengers Doomsday will be hyped. Galactus was great, but I wish they kept John Krasinski as Mr. Fantastic. Really enjoy the retro aspect, and the family themes. 7.2/10

– This movie was INSANE
– Wish we saw more of Reed’s powers like the rest
- Galactus was OP wish we saw more of his destruction, but I get his motive
– Silver Surfer’s sacrifice was 🔥
– The third act showing off everyone’s powers was sick
– A few questionable moments tho

This may be a HOT take, but this saying this film is FANTASTIC is a bit of a STRETCH. That being said it’s still ROCK solid, VISUALLY stunning, and will FOUR sure satisfy fans of Marvel’s first family!
