god i love apocalyptic films.

absolutely loved jacob, margaret, & brolin’s performance.

The real problem is pacing. The things you wanna spend time with they speed through and the things that they should speed through, they spend a lot of time on.

dropped you in the middle of a story you felt you are missing background too. Nothing happened the first half of the movie. And then all of a sudden it’s a fever dream that is the most out of left field turn ever. Genuinely think Ridley Scott was on acid when he wrote this.

Not bad!

I’ve never read the book (and I’m sure, as always, it’s probably better), but I enjoyed this one. Some really pretty nature shots during the plane scenes, and an interesting story overall. Nothing too crazy, but I’m glad I gave it a watch.

What an absolute disappointment

A Good Watch. Great cast, and beautiful locations. The script was good, but I felt they were making a point to not follow the book. (Of course the book was better) Worth a watch.

I love this genre, love the cast, but this is just such an odd movie imo. kind of just about nothing. there’s like a bit of action, some kind of romance I guess, and about an hour total of scenes of jacob elordi either flying a plane or sitting on a bed being sad. a few out of place scenes to me and whatnot. i didn’t hate it but I just feel like there’s nothing to really talk about or anything. closer to meh when it comes to story.

The dog was not starring for majority of the film

I liked the opening sequence and song choice, but the plot was a bit lacklustre & had some holes. It seemed to build at times but wasn’t really leading anywhere, and also spoiler alert: the virus was never explained. The ending was also a bit abrupt. Probably a 4/10

doesn't live up to the hype, very mid. i watched it in the theater and felt like a waste of time. the "slow burn" was just a waste of good actors, no good story building whatsoever.

And I know I’m against the ruling majority, but I liked it, yes it’s a plain story with a couple action scenes, and for those Walking Dead enthusiasts this brings nothing new, but besides that I liked a lot. A magnificent photography.

Not the catastrophe many are yelling in the streets (Twitter), but it’s not as good as I’d hope from this cast and the one and only Ridley Scott.

The story itself is strong, I really enjoyed the vague approach to the apocalypse itself; no flashbacks, no exposition - it tells you what you need to know and lets you work out the rest. That being said, there’s a weird disjointed nature that spreads across the whole runtime, stuff kinda just happens and then they go somewhere else and something else completely random occurs… and that happens all the way to the end, which unfortunately felt pretty abrupt to me.

I liked Jacob Elordi here, the character feels a bit all over the place tonally, depressed one minute and cracking cheeky jokes the next - that’s the writing though and shouldn’t be on Eloridi’s shoulders. Margaret Qualley and Guy Pearce impress, but Josh Brolin's straight-and-narrow “prepper” was a lot of fun, even if extremely stereotypical.

I can’t help but expect more from Scott, his talent is immense, and it shows here - just in a very rushed, messy manner. Still, a lot of fun and I’m sure I’ll revisit it when the classic Ridley Scott “Director’s Cut” releases.

Why does the plane get more plot armour and screen time than the dog?!

like it was an okay movie. gorgeous shots of flying and the scenery. plot was a tad slow and random at times, but overall a nice movie
