Eerily accurate portrait of high school in a way you rarely see on screen. Documentary-style approach was really effective, eliminating the distance between us as viewers and the events unfolding on screen, thus making us complicit observers rather than passive onlookers

Another banger from Matt Johnson. I love how real it feels. The camera filming style, the natural unscripted flow of conversation and the fact that most of the school were unaware they were being filmed, all create this unapologetic grounded reality.

started watching every matt johnson movie and wow 😮 a movie within a movie is such a interesting way 2 execute this idea but i loved it. only movie that really immerses you in situation like this. knowing the characters and then seeing the ending makes it all the more nauseating

Uncomfortable inducing school shooter film that puts you in the actual plan making — two best friends, one thinks the violence is a joke and the other executes it.

The message behind this movie is powerful but others may be unaware of it due to its heaviness on the comedy. The ending being so open to interpretation really fits the theme of The Dirties perfectly and i couldn’t have made a better ending myself
