The Dig Reviews

It's a pretty decent film, though I don't think it knows what it wants to be. As a drama, it's excellent. Great casting and performances, especially from Carey Mulligan and Ralph Fiennes. Heartfelt characters, emotional scoring, and tragic themes, although the depth never digs quite deep enough. As a historical film, on the other hand, it lacks substance and depth yet again. I expected more of an archaeological focus and information about 'The Dig' itself. Nonetheless, I'd still say it was worth the watch.

Great movie, was blurry though for a good 50 minutes idk why!

An interesting and quite fascinating story but with equally sad facets.

It’s a meditation on history, legacy, and the human connection to the past. If you appreciate films that focus on character driven narratives and historical events told with nuance, this is a rewarding watch.

7/10.

Slow.. interesting but slow

Very boring

Nicely acted. I’ll admit I didn’t know much about this archeological find and its story.

not so bad

Something “boring” made impactful

Very interesting. For those who don’t understand the archeologists need to dig, this will open up the reason for digging.

Masse følelser, fin, gråt litt/nesten

A but long but good stroy

7/10
Schöner Film aber nichts besonderes

7/10 I can’t remember it very well but I think I liked it… will rewatch one day maybe
