Whew. This was a lot. I can’t say I really enjoyed it but I can say I really appreciated the absolutely stellar performances (Plaschg and the young boy) and the score. The pacing was a little off to me, feeling quite slow. But the moments that went hard, went so hard. Overall just a really bleak and sad look at life in the 18th century, and quite a pointed look at religion as well.
