I think this movie had a lot of potential, but it didn’t really live up to that for me. I don’t really feel like we saw them falling in love, we mostly just saw them bicker. I wish they delved into Kate’s character a bit more. I do think it’s a pretty decent movie, I did enjoy it

I liked the basic idea of this film — a hockey player who loses his place in hockey and a figure skater who needs a new partner being brought together. I enjoyed watching them go from not really knowing each other to slowly forming a bond and becoming a team, and you could see the romantic storyline developing alongside that.
I also liked the training and seeing them improve together. There was definitely a good foundation for a really enjoyable sports romance, and I can understand why this film has become a classic for so many people.
For me though, it just didn’t completely keep my attention. I found myself waiting for it to pick up at times, and while I enjoyed the story, I didn’t connect with it enough to want to watch it again. It’s a sweet film with a good story at its heart, but unfortunately it wasn’t one that completely grabbed me.

Corny but okay. Love Moira Kelly in anything. For a movie centered around skating and featuring several skate scenes; they kept speeding up all the skating scenes?

Still just as cute today as it was back in the early 90s. Not sure the Pamchenko adheres to the Laws of Physics, but the movie is more about the characters arcs than the actual skating.
