A fine ‘30s noir. McKellen plays a captivating character in a complex but easy to follow plot. Perhaps the young characters are too good looking but good casting otherwise, Mark Strong plays a fine Vis-Count. The cgi of a view over London could have been better as could the repeated shot of the newspapers building. The corridor to the Vis-Count’s office shot was repeated to great effect. Many subjects were briefly touched on with no shying away from the fascism of the time and antisemitism and racism captured.

I won't lie, it's VERY slow (and I still don't understand why it's classified as a "mistery"), but never mind. The story is interesting, and Ian McKellen is a beast as always. His character is a bit irritating, but somehow it intrigued me.
