I hoped for a solid Cold War thriller, and it absolutely delivered. It’s a gripping true story about ordinary men standing up to the Soviet threat.

The Director’s Eye:
The contrast between warm 1960s London and oppressive Soviet Moscow is brilliant. Framing these gloomy European streets gave me fantastic visual inspiration. As a conservative, this clear-cut, patriotic heroism is exactly what I love. Cumberbatch shines as an everyday man stepping up for the free world, championing how principled people can stand firm against communism. The sweeping score perfectly captures the ticking-clock anxiety of a surveilled country.

The Cuts:
The first act takes a minute to get going with way too much boardroom setup. Also, the domestic drama in London felt repetitive while I was just waiting for the high-stakes spycraft to kick back in.

Verdict:
A deeply patriotic thriller about duty, courage, and holding the line against the Soviet Union. A must-watch.

Favorite Line: “We are only two people, but this is how things change.”

A really good watch. I love 1915 to 1960s history. Good film.

Solid film

A great spy movie, and about a true story about a significant true international event that could change the world as we know it. The performance of Mr. Cumberbatch is amazing. And a great companion to Spielberg’s Bridge of Spies.

I wanted to watch this movie for a long time. and I really don't regret it. it's a movie based on facts about English spies in the USSR. I think that the role of Benedict is the greatest advantage of this movie because of that how well he plays a role

Nothing special but it does the job.

Excellent film. Did a beautiful job of capturing the feeling of “all eyes on you” and I thought that the beginning where we knew as much as Wynne did was brilliant.

Las instituciones gubernamentales son todas iguales, te prometen la luna y luego no te dan ni las gracias. Un civil tiene más valentía y moral que la institución completa. La amistad entre el inglés y el ruso fue muy interesante y bonita. Overall, great movie.

A fun, albeit slightly generic political intrigue thriller
