Insanely beautiful- pure tableaux!! I could pull so much inspiration from this. I truly appreciate the visual language of film and I don’t mind when there isn’t a clear storyline. I’ve always thought if I just wanted a story, I’d read a book. This feels like poetry in motion, meant to evoke feeling rather than be figured out. That said, did I still find myself getting restless at times? Yes… but I can still deeply appreciate it.
I think if anyone is interested in understanding more of the symbolism and their meaning, criterion has a great commentary on it!

It is said to be one of the greatest movies ever made, I hope some day I have the intellect to understand it because I couldn't this time.

Perfect background movie for ambience. The imagery reminds me of Jordowski's Holy Mountain.

Russian surrealist story of a 14th century Armenian poet. purposely non literal and poetic, you don't need a story because you have interesting shot after shot after shot. I told you about you the criterion channel restoration is worth the price of admission.

Certainly the most perplexing film I’ve ever seen (so far), The Color of Pomegranates manages to say so much with such few words. The cinematography and music are so stunning that they put you in a dreamlike trance. You just have to experience this film for yourself. 9/10
