They gave away the whole “twist” from the start of the movie. The kid is an actual loser with no backbone. If you’re looking for a movie to help you fall asleep, this is it. To all of saying “this is nuts”, you need to touch some grass.

Decent movie throughout but hated the ending. Dude murders a bunch of women and tries to kill his son just to die without having to face justice and will be remembered for being a good community member. No justice at all. No closure for the victims or their families

The most predictable shit. Last ten minutes me and my dad sat antsy waiting for some sort of plot twist. But it didn’t come.
They just tell you everything in the beginning. Acting and concept for a serial killer was good but that’s it.

For a serial killer movie it lacks depth and sense.

So good, super underrated

I was enjoying, mostly, the majority of this movie. It’s got a good premise and builds well on itself, really tapping into the feeling a lot of us can relate to, which is realizing your parents are fallible. Not to this degree, obviously, but on some level.

What I really truly and thoroughly hate, though, is the horrible ending. It is such a slap in the face to not only the victims in the movie, but also his friend! The fact that he asks her to help him cover up and protect the identity of the man who violently tortured and murdered her mother while she had to listen in the bathroom is so insane. And to frame it as “protecting his family” is such bullshit. Your preference for them to not know the dad’s true identity does not supersede the value of those victims’ families being able to have closure. Not to mention the fact that this will now remain an open case forever? Wasting resources, always leaving people searching for the answer. And you committed a murder and covered up a crime. And I guess just hoping that woman doesn’t tell the cops what really happened? It’s so infuriating and so incredibly selfish (and stupid), while being framed as a noble choice.

Other complaints is that a lot of the movie plays as really goofy and not actually tense. And the kid’s friends are the absolute worst. Also really could have done without such an overwhelming amount of church stuff. Most of which I could have dealt with were it not for the atrocious ending.

i hate the ending good story good climax but i still hate that ending. on a rewatch the protagonist is just as much of a loser as his father fr😭7/10

Crazy story that keeps you entertained the entireeeeee time !! Scary and icky,, but genuinely good movie.

6.5/10 as a movie. 7/10 in its genre (drama thriller). Interesting plot and very nice end. somethings where a bit predictable but it was pretty good and there where some plot twists.

i did appreciate that they didn’t give it a happy conclusion because the way they ended it is most likely how it would go in real life. most people can’t outsmart a serial killer. dylan mcdermott is like a MORE evil version of Ross from Friends.
