You really can’t go wrong with this movie, whether you watch it solo or with family and friends. It reminds me of all the times I read the books, and if you haven't read them yet, it'll definitely spark your interest to dive in. I’m not sure I’d call it perfect, but it’s pretty darn close!

Honestly, this was really good! The world-building was top tier—Narnia felt fully realized, magical, and immersive, which made it easy to get swept up in the story. Even though it was made in the 2000s, the CGI and overall production quality have aged surprisingly well. From the creatures to the wintry landscapes, it still looks visually impressive today. The characters were likable, though I have to admit Edmund was so irritating for most of the film (which, I guess, was kind of the point). Each of the Pevensie siblings had a role to play, and I appreciated how distinct their personalities were. That said, I do wish Susan had a bit more to do—she felt underused compared to the others, though I thought she was very graceful and beautiful on screen. I also really appreciated all the Christian allegory woven throughout the story. It made for some fun discussion with my sister—we couldn’t stop referring to Aslan as the “Jesus lion” 😭 (we’re both very religious 💀), and it was cool to see those deeper themes explored in such a fantastical way. Now, I might be alone here, but… I was a little uncomfortable with Lucy and Mr. Tumnus’s friendship. Not because of the dynamic itself—it’s was sweet and whimsical—but visually, it was kind of jarring. Like, why is this shirtless, hairy guy with goat legs hanging out with a little girl in such an intimate setting? 😭 I know it’s a fantasy film and meant to be charming, and I did like Tumnus as a character, but that thought just lingered in the back of my mind the whole time. All in all, a solid fantasy film that still holds up, with memorable characters, strong world-building, and just enough emotional weight and symbolism to give it lasting impact.

my favorite childhood movie 🥹 it holds so many memories, & it’s so nostalgic. I love every part of this movie, then and now. The battle has always sent goosebumps through me.

I watched this movie so often as a child, and it scared the hell out of me. Mr.Tumnus was actually the scariest thing. Finally watched it again as an adult, and it was still slightly uncomfortable. All of the death and fighting creatures gives me bone chills. I wouldn’t watch it with my 6 year old, that’s for sure, and that’s about how old I was watching it. Still a really good story line. 7/10
