The Bride!
What an invigorating film!!! Jessie Buckley is in a category of her own. I can’t stop thinking about her performance. This twisted romance is enthralling from the very beginning. You don’t fully understand her yet, but the tension keeps climbing higher and higher, you don’t even want to blink.
The Bride’s emotional journey feels incredibly tangible. She doesn’t remember her former life, and being resurrected wasn’t what made her a monster. She came back as something new, yet carried the weight of her past with her. Even her joy seemed to ache with immense pain.
My only wish was that the film had gone deeper into what drove her rage, rather than delivering it through quick dialogue and a montage from someone else’s perspective. Nonetheless, the entire film has this relentless, electric energy. You come out the other side feeling like you just survived something.

Checked the time once because it started to drag. Checked it again 20 minutes later and a minute had passed.

it was hurtful and painful to watch. because in some aspects, it shows how the woman is treated without even wearing anything.
Jessie Buckley showcased another movie full of talent and breathtaking acting.

Didn’t love this movie, but didn’t hate it. I found most of it pretty interesting, especially Christian Bale’s character. Besides that, nothing else really stood out for me 7/10

oh jessie the woman you are! her portrayal as mary & the bride was honestly so intense it was amazing.
let’s just say that the people hating on this movie are either pressed & lonely or don’t want her to win the oscar. but she sure as hell deserves it. after this performance and hamnet, jessie buckley in in my top 3 actresses of today!
i adored this movie! as a lover of horror, a lover of classics, a lover in general and as a woman and its safe to say. I WILL SHOUT! i will shout that i am a woman and no you will NOT take me. you will not name me. i will be who ever the f* i wanna be. this movie inspires hope for generations of women to speak the f* out because babes, you’re gonna be the monster in someones story no matter what. so do it. speak out. if you don’t want that man say so. if you wanna dance around and be free don’t let nobody put you down in the dirt about it.
if you wanna be inspired or support women, go watching this movie. watch it with an open mind and an open heart and you sure as scream. ☆

Chaotic, wild, and a film not for everyone. Definitely had its moments where it was entertaining and moments where you’re unsure of where the film is headed. Great performances from both actors. One of those movies you have to watch for yourself

After last years frankenstein this feels very mid, but it still had great acting. It just didn’t hit a deep as the 2025 one

I might be in the minority but I loved this movie. Exactly what Joker: Folie a Deux should’ve been. Jessie Buckley and Christian Bale are incredible and the story and themes were handled so well. My favorite film of the year so far

The Bride!
A great concept, but a poor execution.
This film was mad right from the get go. As soon as Mary Shelley was introduced as a character and possessed Ida I knew that this film was gonna be weird, and not the good kind. I don’t understand why they did that with Mary Shelley.

Loved the performances and atmosphere. Jessie Buckley is fantastic and Christian Bale brings a strange, tragic charm to the monster. The dark humor and ambiguity worked really well. It slows a bit near the end, but the smaller, intimate finale still lands.

Hated it. A hot mess. Left wondering “why” after countless dialogue exchanges, written / directed choices and the overall whirlwind of a story.

The Bride uses beautiful cinematography to tell a decent story of love, hate, and misogyny. The acting in this film is fantastic, but the film runs a little longer than it needs to. I will say this: this film has you rooting for the main characters.

Bonnie & Clyde but make it Frankenstein’s monster and his bride… Jessie Buckley is phenomenal but otherwise the rest is pretty mid

This was surprisingly good! I love the female awareness of power and unfairness over history. And yet somehow also managed to keep focus on the lovely couple and the drama unfolding.

The Bride!
It was one of the in-flight movies and I just could not get into it after 45 minutes… Somehow the ghost of Mary Shelley is possessing a girl before she dies you then becomes the bride of Frankenstein? She was too off kilter to even follow.
