beautiful movie pls

Sad, but woke

actually really liked the movie, however, it not being told by afghan women but by white women irks me the wrong way. It’s a story about their real life traumas and profiting of a story that is not yours to tell is just wrong.
Otherwise i would have given it a 10/10

A story that majorly deserves to be told. The art style is unique but doesn’t need to impress. Excellent voice performances. You feel for the character’s struggle and it’s powerful

It was hard for me to watch this movie cause I associate animation with the carefree and joy of a child. That's why I think it shows even more the reality and painful true of our world where not every child has this possibility to be a child and live in a loving and safe sorroundings. It's tough but important lesson.

I watched this after reading the book at my middle school, I know it isn’t based on a true story
But it’s kind of depressing to know that stuff like this actually happens in Afghanistan

The animation is beautiful but man is this story a downer. I feel like the script needed some levity somewhere. Without it I just don’t see why this movie is animated rather than just live action. Something this colorful shouldn’t be this dark I guess is my point lol.

I’m always surprised by how certain art styles capture my eyes and my heart and this movie is definitely one of them. An amazing storyline and intricate animations, I hope this movie speaks up for all the resilient women living in Afghanistan.

I watched it really young and although I don’t remember the whole movie exactly, the story is engraved in my brain and heart. It really stick out to me like no other movie I watched at that time.

Very nicely done, interesting and teaches a lot. it's so important to use movies/music/books... to teach about these things that aren't talked about enough (religion and ideas that make woman seem "less important")
