A cinematic orgasm.

Sorry for the crude headliner but it’s exactly how I just described it.

Paul Thomas Anderson has once again, showed why he is so beloved, with top tier filmmaking, direction and screen writing.

I don’t want to say much, because there isn’t much to say except exceptional, and probably, film of the year.

From the moment the screen comes on, the first frame, you know exactly that you are about to witness a masterpiece unravel.

Every actor within the project has been strong, with an emphasis on DiCaprio and Benicio Del Toro who give some of the best acting of their careers and of course, Sean Penn just being unrecognizable, masterful acting.

Every genre connected to this film was executed to perfection once again by one of the masters of cinema.

A true classic has been made, once again, thank you Paul Thomas Anderson

Thank you for showing us what real cinema is, in the middle of cash grab blockbusters and endless franchises.

first of all… the framing. the composition. the cinematography. the camera work. wow.

those car mounts dude. fuckk that was so sexy.

easily one of the most stunning static shots i’ve witnessed in a while. every shot on sticks was an absolute banger. standing ovation to the DP.

that climax had mi buzzing. those rollercoaster roads and the way it was shot…. executed perfectly to the tea.

pta absolutely cooked with the screen writing & direction of this project. i need to watch his old films caus damn this was so good.

cast is sensational. most certainly the best acting i’ve seen from dicaprio in a very very… long time.

leo speaking spanish is the most entertaining & hilarious thing i’ve ever witnessed him do on the big screen lmfao. giggled so many times throughout the entire runtime.

loved benicio’s character, such a chill guy. a sensei but badass at the same time.

props to chase infiniti for also being a badass. loved her character too.

this film has so many feelings you can’t even keep count. an absolute rollercoaster.

bit of a longer runtime than i had initially anticipated… but you don’t even feel it by how gooood the pacing is.

I do not get the hype of this movie. It’s filmed well but the plot is terrible and the movie jumps between themes and fetishises black women. Not to mention absolutely 0 character development.

I DONT LIKE POLITICAL MOVIESthis one is charging so outside of that and the weird dark sexuality to this movie; Leo is good as always, del toro was surprisingly awesome, penn is weird as crap, the score was good but alittle too much at times, car scene was dope. Overhyped for me

It was so bad! I walked out of the cinema within the first 20 minutes.

Definitely don't recommend watching! Don't waste your money on this movie!

Completely retarded

It was underwhelming, I don’t need to see it again. The plot was pretty weak and predictable. It also didn’t need to be that long, I could have gotten the same story in 2 hrs. Everyone played the most stereotypical version of their character.

8/10; Tense, and pulling, the levels to this are incredible, and they tried to make the film nostalgic with the quality of it. Sensei the best fr. Also very interesting and amazing commentary on society.

8.7 - marking “love” but honestly just a “like” still.

This was the Oscar Best Picture Nominee I wanted a rewatch of the most because everywhere I looked I saw I was in a smaller & smaller minority in just not getting it as a (now The) Best Picture favorite.

It’s undeniably a good time, and I get that in a year very full of soft, emotional, and contemplative stories, this one stands out for its energy. But, to me, it doesn’t do anything better with that goal in mind than Sinners or Marty Supreme do. And I still think the wrong characters are in the spotlight here. This shouldn’t be Bob’s or Lockjaw’s story - the life of this movie is in the diversity of the support performances.

And in that vein, honestly it will be a slight disappointment if (when) this (inevitably) wins BP over Sinners, similar to Danielle Deadwyler not getting a nomination for Till over Ana de Armas for Blonde, Green Book beating BlackKklansman, or Nomadland over pretty much every other nominee that year. There’s just some times the Academy still feels a too limited on properly celebrating the diverse stories that we are getting more & more of each year.

The only thing that was better to me this time around was a better grasp on Bob’s character & the shift he had internally, “leaving” the revolution & then allowing his daughter to step back into her parent’s shoes.

Still a technically great production. Good performances, decent humor and satire, fantastic editing, & several memorable moments, but overall, still feels overhyped to me.

Something about a blue coded movie starting off with the blue code sexually assaulting someone who essentially disagrees with their views is hilarious — especially since its all done unironically 😭

This movie isn’t the second coming of Christ as much as everyone would like to say otherwise, its too long, it drags, leo is good, score is good, dialogue sucks at times, good action, shot pretty well, its just GOOD.

I’d skip this movie if you don’t fw politics or hate having your views challenged

“Highest rated film of the decade” and the first 15 mins of this film is just some white man’s wet dream as they sexualize every cell and atom of teyanna taylor’s body. I could never watch this again. “Revolutionary”, but we still fetishizing black women’s bodies? yeah nah. 4/10

this was odd. i really just didn’t enjoy it at all.

The first act had me almost repelled from the screen and confused about how this became so publicly acclaimed. The PTA themes are definitely there, but it felt off-putting in a sort of out-of-touch way. Then Infiniti's character was introduced, and everything slowly but surely improved... drastically. Penn, DiCaprio, Hall, Del Toro, and of course, the phenomenal script all had me locked in and ready for each development, one after another. The camera work, especially in the final act, was brilliant, and the narratives were incredibly salient throughout. Also, this had no right to be as comedic as it was.
