The Bad Sleep Well
The ending conpletely ruined this for me. It was far too abrupt and anticlimactic.
It felt like the whole movie was leading up to something big and it never came, quite the opposite.
It was a fine movie, like a 6/10 before the ending which turned it to a 4. Not a must watch.

first of all, the cinematography of this film is absolutely impeccable. from the lighting to the composition, your eye is always drawn to the right places. additionally, the acting of the cast was so good to the point where i truly felt resentment towards the characters. all the scenes are so immersive and truly draw you in. the movie also has so many essential ethical and overall philosophical themes that are so clearly addressed without seeming over-done. kurosawa’s films always hit the nail on the head when it comes to the acting, cinematography and writing, and this film is a perfect example of that.
