just really beautifully made in all ways; it’s writing, acting, humour, cinematography. It captures loneliness so well. And the humour, set-ups and pay-offs just so simple yet unique. One of my favourites ever probably.

NYC apartments haven’t changed

This is one of the great romantic comedies which writer-director Billy Wilder isn’t afraid to let go to dark places when it is honest for what the characters are going through. The cast is stellar!

did not care one bit whether or not the two of them ended up together

This was actually a surprising delight. Such a wholesome cute story. It felt original and done well. Shirley MacLaine was great in this something different to what I have seen her in, in the past.
