Weird as hell but so interesting to see stories in the universe and the downfall of the humans. Also the different animation styles were refreshing

Next to the original matrix, this is easily the best film in the IP

Each of the 9 shorts created by different acclaimed anime directors, including Shinichirō Watanabe, Mahiro Maeda, and Yoshiaki Kawajiri. They explore the worlds and themes set by the original matrix. It's beautiful and depressing.

I think it is a must watch for those who like interesting animation and would like to expand on “Matrix” universe. There are different stories, some of them really shook me. I totally recommend, but it’s definitely not for everyone.

Fantastic, sometimes tragic backstory in each short, despite the chaotic animation style of some of the shorts.

Seriously awesome movie that probably inspired the whole anime anthology trend that happened after this release.
