The Amazing Spider-Man
My favorite spiderman movie . Andrew Garfield does an amazing job as Spider-Man and this is just overall a great movie. The new perspective from a different spiderman and different story than the first spiderman movies is great

The CGI, the casting, the plot, the drama, the action…absolutely everything about this movie was perfect, personally I “connect” with Andrew’s SM more, hence why I like his movies better, but regardless of my opinion, really solid movie full of action, definitely worth a watch.

Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone are electric every time they're on screen and web-swinging sequences are energetic and exciting, but the antagonists and overall story miss the mark.

Would’ve given it a “love” instead of a “like” but that “Mother Hubbard” line was so intolerable it takes it down an entire level.

Garfield’s Spider-Man makes me feel things I’ve never felt before. He’s authentic, he’s awkward, he’s real, but at that same time he is just *that* guy in the best way possible. Also that lizard is FREAKY AS HELL get him off my screen NEOW

Rating: 7.3/10 ⭐️
I expected an unnecessary rehash, but this gritty, emotional take totally won me over.
What Worked:
Practical stunt rigs give the web-swinging a raw, kinetic texture. Garfield and Stone’s chemistry really anchors the movie. Through my Methodist faith lens, Peter’s shift from angry vengeance to protective responsibility resonated with my values on sacrifice and helping the vulnerable.
The Cuts:
Seeing the exact same origin story meant the momentum stalled early; it was just spinning its wheels. Peter’s hunt for Uncle Ben's killer gets totally dropped, leaving that thread hanging. Keeping it spoiler-free, the villain’s cartoonish master plan is goofy and clashes with the gritty tone.
Verdict:
A solid, character-driven reboot. Watch for a grounded Peter Parker, but skip if burned out on origin stories.
Favorite Line: “We all have secrets: the ones we keep, and the ones that are kept from us.”
