The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Reviews

The best spiderman movie, in my opinion. Jamie Foxx outdid himself as Electro, Andrew and Emma and especially Dane. The cgi was stunning, the sound effects and songs were perfect, the story was so heartfelt, the action was so raw, Sally's monologue was so surprisingly saddening. Why didn't he get to make his 3rd. Ugh.

I genuinely loved both these films and Gwen’s death was the Oscar winning performance from Andrew and Emma. Docking one point for Robo-Rhino

I know people hate this movie but like Andrew is the best Peter Parker imo and even though some of the plot got kinda flimsy bc he was literally bitten by the spider they said were killed in this movie it’s still super good and Gwen’s death was literally so awful

i think i liked this more than the first, i cried at least but that also doesn’t say much 💀
electro is horrifying and i hated having to look at him every time he came up on my screen

One of the most underrated movies in existence. People still call this movie bad. The only not super good part was goblin and he was such a small part and he was still bareable

i fucking hate dane dehaan and his stupid fucking face at least they made his hair more uglier in this movie that made me giggle he’s so fucking dumb i hate dane dehaan fucking dane dehaan he’s the worst ever i like andrew garfield tho he was great unlike dane dehaan fucking dane

Words cannot express how amazing this movie is!! Probably one of the best Spider-Man movies in my opinion!

Just love this

The first time I watched this movie a long time ago it was on my dislikes for Spider-Man movies. Now rewatching it again and Andrew being one of my favorite spideys I really like it. The fight scenes in this movie were so 🔥. A lot of emotions throughout the movie. 🕷️🕸️ Need TASM3 🙏

This isn’t that good but Andrew Garfield Emma stone Dane de Han and Jamie fox tried their best Dane wasn’t terrible as harry Osborn but Paul Giamatti was actually hilarious 😂 never a good idea to put three villains in a Spider-Man movie c’mon Sony learn from Spider-Man 3

While The Amazing Spider-Man 2 isn’t that much of an improvement over its predecessor, Jamie Foxx’s Electro (and the craft that accompanied it) was a big boost over how the first film used its villain.

Personal favorite Spider-Man movie

EMOTIONAL DEPTH! Easily my favorite of the original 5. The Gwen and Peter story line is so good. Potentially the best love interest plot line in a super hero movie ever. Worthy of the title — Amazing

This movie is very underrated it’s beautifully shot well acted got a great story one amazing villain and good pacing it’s almost better than the first but Electro and the messy plot hold it back 8.6/10

I hoped for an epic continuation, but it tries way too hard to set up a cinematic universe instead of telling a cohesive story.

What Worked:
Garfield and Stone’s chemistry completely anchors the film. Switching to 35mm film gives it a gorgeous comic-book pop, and Electro’s VFX are mesmerizing. Through my Methodist faith lens, Peter’s exhausting desire to protect the vulnerable reflects a beautiful picture of grace and servant leadership.

The Cuts:
Juggling Electro, Harry, and Sinister Six teasers made the momentum totally stall out. The whole mystery about Peter’s parents really dragged for me, distracting from the main story. Keeping it spoiler-free, Max Dillon’s obsessive fanboy routine is way too cartoonish for such a heavy, tragic movie.

Verdict:
A visually stunning but overstuffed sequel collapsing under its franchise ambitions. Fun for the romance, but skip if you hate bloated plots.

Favorite Line: “I know that we all think we’re immortal...but I choose to have hope.”
