This may be my least favorite from Hitchcock, and yet it's still a good thriller. Robert Donat & Madeleine Carroll were a decent pairing, and the same could be said for the plot.

👍👍 Yet another man on the run/wrongly accused Hitchcock feature; count me in! Expertly-captured sense of paranoia & constant pursuit. Donat & Carroll's chemistry is super charming & humorous, enlivening the 2nd half. The ending is a bit rushed, but the twist itself is great.

I didn’t find this film quite as thrilling as Hitchcock’s other films. The premise is interesting, but I found the finished product to be quite dull. I did enjoy how the film ended where it started and how that played into the plot twist.

It’s surprising to see what a sophisticated movie this is for 1935. Funny and exciting. North by Northwest is basically a remake of this but this one has its own flavor. I do miss not having a score, with that said, at times the silence adds to the tension.

Good classic Hitchcock movie. Yes it is old and slightly archaic, but the story does unfold well and leaves you wondering what is the ‘39 steps’ until the end. Good quick watch.

This film wasn’t too bad of a film to be fair. One of the better ones that I have watched for film studies. Has everything you expect in a Hitchcock film

My favorite Hitchcock movie that doesn’t get too much love from the general audiences.
