Sword Art Online the Movie: Ordinal Scale

Before you watch this movie you need to watch SAO and I personally recommend to watch GGO directly afterwards.

Threw this on because I live for Action RPGs and wanted to see the crew handle AR. Honestly loved how pulling the game into the real world brings high stakes and awesome nostalgia.

What Worked:
• AR combat makes the boss fights feel grounded and physically intense.
• The original crew teaming up for the Floor 100 battle totally blew me away.
• Kajiura’s soundtrack is gold; the idol songs mixed with battle music completely pop.

The Friction:
• Asuna’s memory loss subplot really dragged for me in the middle.
• Kirito suddenly becoming a real-world physical powerhouse in days felt far-fetched.

Verdict:
Watch if you love Action RPGs and want an emotional SAO reunion. Skip if you haven’t seen the first two seasons.

Absolutely beautiful I love seeing anything SAO and Kirito and asuna are definitely in my top 3 of couples fr! I love how the movie is directly canon with the story as well. 💯
