One of the most realistic movies I’ve ever seen. Made my stomach sick in the best ways and felt sorry for Hunter throughout the entirety of this movie. I partially relate to this movie (some aspects of it)

I really liked how this movie taught me something I never knew about. How the main character slowly realized how unhappy she was and how she took back her freedom.

I did not enjoy it at all. It was weird, not in an interesting way but very much uncomfortable.
I feel like the plot is quite random and not meditated or logic. The actors seem to be a cheap version of Florence Pugh and Jake Gyllenhaal.

- that ending!!!!!! heck yeah!!!!!
- i think it could’ve used a little more intensity, a lil more drama, but overall it was good!
- i think the casting for hunter was fantastic

I liked the movie. The build up was good and the way she slowly realised that the husband is an asshole was well shown. Also the fact the therapist broke the patient confidentiality rules made me fucking angry. I feel like they could’ve gone deeper into the rape and the ending fe

8.0 - It’s not subtle in its metaphors or messaging over control, mental health, or isolation. But it is exquisitely shot, remarkably well acted, and achieved a very rare level of discomfort from me - mostly without putting much directly on screen.

It was ok. Very slow but meaningful ending. Slow burn with an ending that barely hits its landing. Wouldn’t watch it again. Not really a horror movie but just uncomfortable story about pica and abusive relationships

Hunter uses her pica disorder as a version of control over her life after her husband Richie, I believe, raped her. He acts oddly praising towards her and offers her gifts as a form of an apology after learning something related to her past. She said she gave up a lot for him which I feel is her trying to be accepted despite what had happened to her. When she met her father, she went to get an abortion after to close that circle of keeping the child without wanting to. The high expectations Richie and his parents had for her, especially with her being pregnant, made everything very stressful, which was obvious as she went about her day.
I hated her husband. I could tell he was off when he ignored her to answer his business call at the beginning of this movie. He was manipulative and fed her sweet words about promising to better understand her before forcing her to sign an agreement for the mental hospital. I'm glad she left him, but it never showed what happened with him or where she would go.
The disorder wasn't really a huge part of the movie, in my opinion. It was more so everyone's reaction to the first encounter that filled up most of the screen time.
I am glad she got rid of the baby so she had nothing tying her down to her husband.
