Sucker Punch

when i saw advertising for this movie, it seemed to be promoting the very thing it’s actually critical of, the sexualisation of women, especially in fantasy and action while dressing them up in impractical outfits.

while i totally get the critiques for this movie, i appreciate what it was trying to do. it’s a dark story that isn’t very empowering but shows disassociating in a creative way that allows the characters to have their own agency and power in a fantasy world, even if it doesn’t matter in the end due to the harsh reality of the oppression and abuse that they face.

i dont understand why people hate this movie so much. in my loved movies for the aesthetic and fights alone. 9/10

Oscar Isaac was hot but that’s really the only reason I would consider watching it again

Basically it’s Alice: Madness Returns in movie form, but with more sexy girls and guns

Love it it has such a deeper meaning about womanhood and staying together, and I love the reality splits, and the definition of power and freedom and the ending was just so good

Camp movie
