Student of the Year 2
Rating: 2.6/10 ⭐️
I hoped for a fun underdog sports movie, but it honestly felt like an unrealistic music video where absolutely no one goes to class.
What Worked:
The sweeping campus shots look incredibly polished. Tiger Shroff's athletic stunts are the only thing anchoring the movie, and the upbeat soundtrack definitely shows off that $9.2M budget right on the screen.
The Cuts:
Treating school like a toxic reality TV show was honestly super cringe. The constant backstabbing and shallow cheating made it impossible for me to find a solid moral center to root for. With a messy script bouncing between random subplots, the middle part really dragged for me. I totally get why it sits at a brutal 6% on Rotten Tomatoes, it just feels like a hollow cash grab.
Verdict:
Trades genuine heart for unrealistic teen drama and shallow values. I'd definitely skip it.
Favorite Line: “It’s time to focus on accomplishing something.”
