I expected a goofy supernatural flick, but it actually balances genuine scares with sharp, witty comedy.

What Worked:
Rajkummar Rao learning to sew for a month gives his tailor performance an authentic vibe you can't fake. The director perfectly threads the needle between creepy night visuals and hilarious banter from Pankaj Tripathi. Plus, launching a cinematic universe on a tiny $3.6M budget into a $26M hit is wildly impressive. Filming in the real Chanderi adds a massive boost of authenticity.

The Cuts:
Since they spend so much time running around figuring out lore, the middle part really dragged for me. Through my faith and flag lens, the heavy focus on the occult and restless spirits doesn't align with my preferences. Also, the ending is left super ambiguous to set up sequels. Not getting a clean resolution felt honestly unsatisfying.

Verdict:
A spooky comedy that flips the script on ghost stories. Solid watch if you don't mind heavy supernatural elements.
