First time I think I saw Ralph Fiennes be a good guy. Juliette Lewis‘ acting was painful tho

An ugly vision of the far-flung future of 1999. Kathryn Bigelow is better than this. Even the 90s sci-fi aesthetic is bland compared to the rest of 1995 cinema. Disappointing.

I am absolutely mind blown this was made in the 90’s! SO far ahead of its time! Highly recommend

Near future 90s movies are always a trip. Supergangs, race riots, end of days, evilest of evil cops and, of course, killer nightclubs. This movie is all of that turned up as high as it goes. It’s a freight train of a story - dark, unsettling, and yet somehow hopeful by its end.

however, it was a very cool and unique concept and it was done so well. juliette’s song ATE. and angela bassett is serving looks the entire way through

It is a really interesting premise, way ahead of its time, for 1995. This film oozes 90s! Overall, it was a pretty good mystery, even though I was eventually able to figure out who the true villain was before it was revealed. Should you watch this? It wouldn’t kill you not to.

Messy structure but good!

Very underrated 90s Sci Fi. This movie didn’t hold back at all. Could definitely see a future like this. 9/10

Angela Bassett's fine self unfortunately couldn't save this movie for me. Very long, and Ralph Fiennes's horrible American accent is hard to ignore.

Best New Years holiday movie

This was cool. An older movie but still relevant—and despite being set in 1999, has blade runner /cyberpunk vibes. Love the voyeuristic memory mechanic and the mystery elements. Ralph Fiennes is great.

The sociopolitical commentary told thru sci-fi is strongly represented in the 90s here with this visually striking offering. Fiennes is awesome, and the rest of the movie really gives off a fun punk tone.

She’s so hot

One of my favorite movies of all time. Retro (now) future sci-fi apocalyptic neo-noir. With such a killer Anti-Hero lead. For fans of Blade Runner, Existens, Repo Man, Natural Born Killers, Near Dark 🖤

Original in its day and sadly a still relevant social commentary. Despite seeing the killer coming a mile away, still has a great plot, lots of intrigue, excitement, and a minor twist at the end. And Ralph Fiennes is a greasy hot mess. Glad LA hasn’t turned out quite as bad.

Post Rodney King, pre George Floyd and somehow still relevant, cyberpunk.
