RE-WATCH: God, I forgot how much I love this movie! First of all, the cast is phenomenal! The dialogue is witty and fun, which you don’t always see in fantasy movies. The visuals are gorgeous and the score is stunning! You just feel happier by watching it!!! Love love LOVE!!!!

it was fun and enjoyable fantasy flick, but the ending was a lil bit simple, i did like the uniqueness of the storyline, and young Ben was superrr hotttt

Generic? Yes. But somehow still comes out feeling really fun. I’m not sure how I’d never heard of this one before

In no way should this movie work at all. I can’t speak to its quality as an adaptation, but as a movie it’s a combination of poorly timed cleverness, world-building without enough context, odd Shakespeare-inspired moments, and humor that completely throws off the tone. And yet, there is a remarkable amount of consistency within that chaos. I find myself loving the characters, enjoying the story, and somehow not minding that the scenes are often very choppy. In a fantasy world that reminds me of His Dark Materials, I could not help but feel some fulfillment from this movie and its lessons.

One of my all time favorite movies. The story is amazing and I fall in love with it again each time I watch it.

A much better movie than I'd thought it'll be. Some characters were left underdeveloped, but the plot was incredibly fun, heartwarming and the creativity is inspiring!
