yo the first 45 mins suck. last half is pretty great. this is queer coded. some of the shots are really nice. the gunfight was epic

I liked it, specially the cinematography! I bet there was some animal abuse but this is my first John Wayne movie and I enjoyed it!

Saigon. I'm still only in Saigon. Every time I think I'm going to wake up back in the jungle. When I was home after my first tour, it was worse. I'd wake up and there's nothing. When I was here I wanted to be there. All I could think of was getting back into the jungle.

Slay I love it

The camera-work and character writing is incredibly intriguing. The ending subplot felt like they were in a time constraint and rushed it but overall entertaining.

A benchmark western by the legend himself John Ford. John Wayne's intro shot with the panning in and lever action rifle flip are iconic.

Charming Western but a product of its time. The landscape shots are breathtaking.

Definitely problematic but good film

👍👍 The beginning is a bit of a whirlwind, but develops into a compelling story that is very much dialogue/character-driven. The "upstanding" citizens disappoint, and those looked down upon for their vice are the ones to show the most courage and care.
It's a slow boil to an eventual explosion of action, much as in High Noon.
The Luke Plummer plotline was a little underdeveloped and out of nowhere, but overall a very solid film, wonderfully written and directed.

Has a good variety of coach riders. And some surprises along the way. Felt a little long.

Watched because it was an assignment in my films study class. Not my cup of tea personally

Full of nail-biting drama and thrilling action, stagecoach so amazingly written and directed that it’s near perfect. This is my first John Ford film and I’m so excited to see the rest! 9/10
