LOVE IT. Absolutely lived up to the hype. Emotional, packed with amazing moments, and the energy is completely insane. Sadie Sink and The Punisher were huge highlights and made the movie even better 🔥🕷️

this is the first marvel film where i actually felt it took place in the extended universe, having yelena; punisher; hulk and jean grey made me feel like i was in a comic story and especially with how beautiful new york looked and also the swinging was probably the best weve had

Definitely expected way more than this. Especially after all the hype Marvel created.
I was hoping for more development of the universe as a whole and for more characters to be mentioned.
The writing feels scattered and unfocused. Weakest one so far and doesn't stand a chance -

This is the product you have to put out when you write yourself into a hole.
Without spoiling anything there’s 2 problems or story lines Spider-Man has to solve in this film. 1 of the story lines is actually horrendous.
Lot of flash. Pretty close to zero substance

I loved how much it felt like we were swinging with Spider-Man. The detail in the sounds and movements of the camera were incredible.

Fuck recency bias, this is the definitive spider-man movie, tom holland is the definitive live action spider-man (so far), everything this movie did was perfect, gorgeous, so stupidly emotionally impactful, and I will never be a “marvel is so back” person because Marvel is MARVEL

Holy peak. This is everything you expect out of a spiderman film. It was funny, cinematic, heart felt, and full of big and small potatoes (iykyk). Absolute peak cinema 🕷️🥔

It was a bit mid story wise. I feel like there were too many characters the movie focused on without really flushing it out. Like if you take punisher or the hulk away from the movie not much would change. Also the metamorphosis Peter goes through didn’t end up important really.

This is hands down the best SPIDER-MAN movie to have ever been conceived. It manages to capture Spider-Man 2’s isolationist, self deprecating appeal to the character; it takes what was accomplished in the home trilogy to present this character in a way people have been clamoring for, but most of all we finally get to see Holland stand proud as the character. It’s an emotional story, the actors show that well, but the script this is working with blew me away cause while this is a comic book movie, it felt like a damn fine piece of cinema. It’s missing a core antagonist, it’s missing some filler, it could’ve even been a bit longer, but at the end of the day I don’t believe Spider-Man has ever been showcased this well. This is in part due to the fact that this is the single best example of a living comic book world, it’s so easy to fit a character like this into that but it would be negligible to ignore the world that has been created here. I loved how often Tom is in the suit, I loved the soundtrack, and I really loved how they handled the Punisher, a character who desperately needed someone to show how goofy of a character he really is. Design team was juiced to hell here too, Scorpion, the web design, the physical recoil of the ‘jumping,’ everything down to being able to see Peter’s eyes behind the mask, this was a delicately cared for film that provided yet another fantastic experience. 4.5/5

some spoilers kinda. sorry for the long ass review in case anyone actually cares specifically about my opinion on this movie.
overall, this is my favorite spider-man movie even with the flaws. tom has been my favorite spidey ever since civil war. so seeing my favorite of the actors in arguably the best live action suit, with the best swinging scenes (to me), and all of the little things adding up made me the happiest i’ve been watching a movie in a while. it just means so much to me that the sort of mediocre spider-man that was somehow always my favorite ended up actually being really great, on top of all the reasons I already loved him.
as for the plot, I didn’t love it entirely. the follow-up to no way home is my second favorite part about this movie behind the suit, swinging, action, cinematography, etc. it was quite pleasant to see peter so depressed/lonely from missing his best friend & gf when he has all of those memories and they have none. the rooftop scene and the final scene couldn’t have been better and I needed them after almost 5 years. they gave me enough to keep me satisfied while still not entirely finishing the story, so another movie is needed now.
part of the plot I loved was the dna mutating stuff, I think all of that was executed perfectly and organic webs was awesome to see. obviously another movie now is much more exciting since he could kinda control that stuff by the end. I literally can’t wait for another one if it’s happening.
when it comes to other characters, Frank’s addition to everything was perfect. I absolutely love bernthal, he’s probably in my top 10 actors, and i’m very happy with what we got out of him in this movie even tho it didn’t feel exactly like his character in other projects.
i didn’t feel like he and peter got to team up enough (or it just wasn’t as good as I hoped), the one team-up being against the hulk and all. it wasn’t exactly a cool fight imo (on frank’s side), because he shoots him and that’s it. but it was a nice glimpse at what they could do together and how they will interact in the future.
I feel indifferent about sadie’s character. I don’t mind her being introduced in this movie (so she will already be an established character in future movies), but I just don’t care for her, and at times it felt like some characters’ only purpose in the whole movie was just to be mind controlled by her.
I didn’t care for bruce as much as in other movies but seeing him hulk-out was amazing (best part was the close-up of hulk’s lips)

Spider-Man: Brand New Day is a top tier Spider-Man movie. It manages to walk a fine line between focusing on Peter Parker but also expanding the MCU without overshadowing Peter’s personal journey.

I really have only seen 3 marvel movies in my entire life. This one was really good. Debating going on a generational marvel run. Also liked that I didn’t have to watch every marvel movie to understand it.
