Great initial introduction to mass audiences and amazing casting (and acting by Dafoe.) still is way too cheesy and feels like it’s the 1963 run of Spidey which is great but feels so corny and bad sometimes.

You know I’m something of a movie reviewer myself…. Willem Dafoe’s Green Goblin steals the show and Tobey Maguire does a great job as both Spider-Man and Peter Parker!

Spider-Man’s origin story near faithfully brought to life from the comics. Tobey Maguire provides a good performance that millions fell in love with. Willem Dafoe plays a scary Green Goblin and acts as a foil to Spider-Man. The start of my love for the character of Spider-Man!

Never gets old such a good movie

I’ve never known how I really feel about this one until this rewatch. it’s a film I respect and admire more than I love and enjoy it. the dark themes covered are so great and work so well for it, but at the same time it’s not exactly what I want from a spider-man movie. I still feel this one is perfect in its own way, but it’s just not exactly for me and i’ve always felt held back from really loving it.

I find it interesting that Joe Russo recently said the MCU version of the character was designed not to be responsible for Ben’s death, letting his movies be more fun and enjoyable without the emotional weight in a way. Somewhere in the middle of the two choices is the spiderman film for me.
