Quite literally unwatchable. I am not joking in the slightest goddamn bit when I say this is probably the worst movie ever created on the history of this planet.

An absolute favorite! The comedy, the drama, and the aesthetics are fantastic.

I’m not even sure where to really begin with this…

First and foremost, the story is trash - like I was fully uninterested with everything it was doing. But for all of the film’s general nonsense, whilst I can’t say I “liked it”, I did respect it and the wacky ambition the Wachowski’s clearly had. It’s bold, colourful, fever dream-essent, I think you could mistake the film for having bad CGI, which maybe sometimes it does, but for the most part yet another bold creative choice feeling reminiscent of anime or manga.

Acting was pretty gross all around if we’re being frank, although John Goodman and Susan Sarandon were allowed some quiet moments to deliver SOME emotion.

I’d have fucked with this like 40% more if it weren’t for that atrocious fat kid and that bloody chimp popping up every time I blinked - ultimate cock-block in cinematic form.

Probably the best adaptation I’ve ever watched considering how the cinematography perfectly captures how an anime feels to watch

I had a hell of a good time with Speed Racer, though, and the race scenes were really cool. Some of the cheesiest shit you'll ever see in here will take you out of it, but it's not a major issue, and you also have some very heartwarming, sweet moments to counterbalance it.

While the movie can be a bit too long and some CGI is dated, everything else is peak. The acting is incredible, some of the comedy made me laugh out loud, and the racing is among the most exciting I’ve seen, even today. It feels like an anime/video game in the best way.

The re release in IMAX was worth the watch. The story telling for each character was great, which tied the movie together very well. Almost forgot how PEAK this movie was when it released. 9.5/10
