Sometimes They Come Back... for More
The Antarctic base gives the movie a decent atmosphere, but the basic setup isn't anything new. Story-wise, it's hard not to think of Doom (2005) or Ghosts of Mars. All three have that "isolated facility, mysterious evil, people fighting to survive" structure.
