Another insanely unrealistic, loyalty-optional, terrible "romcom". Walter really got dumped by his WIFE bc of some guy she heard on the damn radio, proceeds to stalk him and cheat on Walter physically and mentally.

I don’t know man. When the movie ended, I felt very confused so I don’t think that that’s a good sign. I’m just really struggling to understand how this movie was romantic. The plot was also a little weird and unrealistic in my opinion. Also, Annie is a fucking unfaithful creep

Pretty sure I’ve seen this before, but fully rewatched and ughhh it’s so adorable. Such an incredible love story that really tugs at your heart strings a bit while also being funny.

Good but they literally did not meet until the last 30 seconds and Neil was disappointed by the lack of them “in the sack”

Sleepless in Seattle feels extra special to me because Seattle isn’t just the setting, it’s the soul of the whole movie. Since I was born there and still love it so much, watching the city show up in all its dreamy, rainy charm makes the story hit even harder. The houseboat on Westlake feels like one of the most romantic homes ever put on film, which is almost rude considering most of us will never casually recover from that level of waterfront perfection.

The Athenian Inn, tucked into Pike Place Market, gives the movie that warm, familiar Seattle texture, even when the conversation happening there is men trying to emotionally process dating over raw oysters and scotch, which is somehow both absurd and deeply fitting.

Then there’s Alki Beach, where Sam and Jonah playing catch gives the story some of its sweetest heart. That stretch of Seattle feels open, tender, and lived in, and it grounds the movie in something real beneath all the romantic fantasy. And of course, the film’s love affair with An Affair to Remember and the Empire State Building gives it that classic, sweeping sense of destiny the movie leans into so unapologetically. Is it a little ridiculous to pin everyone’s emotional future on one meeting at the top of a skyscraper? Absolutely. Is it still devastatingly romantic? Also yes.

What I love most is that the movie lets Seattle be both beautiful and personal, not just postcard pretty, but intimate and full of feeling. It captures the kind of love people can have for a place: familiar, nostalgic, and impossible to shake. So yes, the romance is charming, the Empire State Building is iconic, and the emotional logic occasionally runs on pure movie magic, but Seattle is what makes the whole thing unforgettable.

Such a comfort film that feels emotionally sincere without being overly sentimental. I loved the atmosphere and old Seattle scenes.
