Shin Godzilla
my absolute favorite godzilla movie. i love the narrative style much more than the legendary movies. the cgi for godzilla is a little off but it makes him more scary and creepy. the utter sense of hopelessness is unmatched in other godzilla movies. the True Godzilla

Shin Godzilla
The best representation of Godzilla in a long time. Classic elements mixed with new ideas, well written and Godzilla is scary again

like. a brilliant reflection of not only post-war japan but also godzillas legacy in post war japan?? also a great criticism of bureaucracy. really sort of excellent. amazing cinematography. features the line “post-war extends forever” which has haunted me for a while

This is the first movie in a while where I have to really formulate my thoughts on this. I feel really conflicted on if I just like this or think it’s something really great.

Godzilla's first appearance was quite interesting lol. That whole first action sequence with the military assault on Godzilla was cool, and then the following sequence when Godzilla glows purple was so badass! Wish I could’ve liked it more but outside of that didn’t domuch for me

What makes it unique is its portrayal of Godzilla as an ever-evolving force of nature. This is one of his most terrifying versions—unstoppable, adaptive, and constantly changing. Had he not been stopped, he would’ve become something far beyond a monster.

Godzilla minus 1 is way better. However, the evolving Godzilla was kinda cool. First one was freaky. The viewpoint of politicians and government was fond of interesting but somewhat boring.
