Another amazing spike lee joint

progressive film for the 80’s. it showed the flipped perspective of having multiple casual partners as a woman and see the hypocrisy from her said partners. spike lee has always had the courage to show faults in our backwards society in his joints (slightly preferred the show)

if you are a woman in your 20s watch it

Skip the joint and watch the series instead. The joint felt scattered at times, and 84 minutes simply wasn't enough to fully explore Nola Darling's complexities.

the overall theme is good and nola as a female character taking agency of herself and sexuality makes the movie. however, the pacing is slow and how they handled the rape scene was,,, not great

68/100. The Movie is just okay, the plot is nice but somewhat dull, the emotion just isn’t there and while there is some good acting, there is just as much bad acting.

Nola Darling, you so annoying

I didn’t know this was spike lees debut until it was over. Honestly I was shocked. It’s so masterfully we’ll made and so wonderfully off beat yet introspective that you can’t help but have a good time. 7/10
