Overall, Shazam! is a fun movie with mature themes sprinkled in. It embraces the camp and humor this character needs to succeed on the big screen, even poking fun at previous DC heroes and films.

Billy becomes a superhero and the first thing he does is buy beer.

Strong start with a cool storyline and great cinematography, but it felt too childish overall. Fight scenes and dialogue were often cringe and child-like. I got the kid in an adult body with a power angle but it didn’t give "superhero" it gave "playing make believe" Overall: 5/10
