Super odd & goofy yet clever at the same time. Highly recommend for a fun movie night but I am confused w/ the ending in terms of Maddie though so someone who has seen it pls help😂

7.4 - solid directorial debut for Jake Johnson. Pretty much what you’d expect based off his body of work. Could have been a multi episode Nick Miller arc. Lots of charming performances. Missing a level of risk & the ending falls a bit flat, but it’s very worth a stream!

Leave it to Jake Johnson to bring back the knee-slapper comedy. Unexpected and unpredictable with a mildly lackluster ending. Still enjoyed the ride especially because it felt like a modern Truman show of sorts.

Self Reliance is a raw, no-BS survival thriller that strips everything down to grit and guts. It’s tense, unpredictable, and far from polished, but that rough edge works in its favor. Not for everyone, but if you want real stakes and zero sugarcoating, it delivers hard.
