I absolutely loved this movie. It was full of intense foreshadowing and meta references. It ironically outlines the clichés of murder films all while doing said clichés. It was simultaneously hypocritical and self-indulging. I love the plot and the characters even more.

8.8 - (original review, 2022) Don’t jump to conclusions. This is one of the most easy & fun theater viewings I’ve had this year, & I would guess my entirely sold old showing would agree with me.

Saoirse Ronan & Sam Rockwell had great chemistry & Ronan stole the show. It pays homage to the best parts of whodunnits while also keeping a very dry & meta humorous tone, & still somehow flips most expectations on their head. This genre has had a number of solid entries over the last few years and this one stands with the best of them.

(Updated 2025) I may have overrated this the slightest bit based on my theater experience, but it’s still a great time if you’re into dry & meta humor.

A little Wes Anderson, a little Knives Out, & plenty of laugh out loud moments for me. I am a bit bummed I seem to be in a minority loving this.
