See How They Run
I absolutely loved this movie. It was full of intense foreshadowing and meta references. It ironically outlines the clichés of murder films all while doing said clichés. It was simultaneously hypocritical and self-indulging. I love the plot and the characters even more.

This movie was extremely entertaining. Saoirse Ronan was delightful in it and kept me laughing. I loved the use of split screen. I also love the use of irony and how it pokes fun at itself and the genre. One of my favorite movies of the year

See How They Run
A very middling Whodunnit that meanders into boring plot lines and focuses on flaccid characters of which are designed to be extravagant caricatures of stereotype roles in a murder mystery.
The story itself was decent, holding an engaging mystery at its centre that left a nice twist to unwrap at the infamous reveal. It’s a real shame as there’s some really strong costume and production work, but the cinematography spoils it with a strange aspect ratio choice and a very clean digital look that disturbs the illusion of the 50’s setting.
Saoirse Ronan can do no wrong, no matter how badly her character’s lines are. She gives 110% effort and brings her charm. Sam Rockwell fairs less well, but not offensive. Really like Harris Dickinson too!
Hardly a Knives Out film, and certainly doesn’t live up to the Agatha Christie mystery the films pits itself as, but I did enjoy it for what it was.
