Racist within the first 5 sec and overall just bad movie

Some of the jokes had me crying and some had me kinda cringing and wishing they would get it over with. Definitely a mixed bag and there were times I wasn’t sure if I liked it or not. Wouldn’t watch again, but I would seek out clips of the movie to send to friends.

This movie was so funny and iconic as shit! And weirdly a great cast, my favorite was Ray😭. Definitely recommend if you’re a fan of classic horror but also think the clichés are ridiculous.

Casual 2000s comedy. The fact that it's not only based on scream but uses other horror movies is genius. It even breaks the fourth wall. I love parodys, this is one of the best by far. Makes no sense, but that's the point of a parody, and it's realistic. The way it captured the vibe of scream too, crazy.

I love scary movie it’s a great time. I love all the horror movies it parodies and the cast is great the writing is great in its own way. 8/10

Scary Movie might non be a classic, but it’s a solid satire of contemporary slasher films that I had a good time with. If you are hoping to forget your troubles for 90 minutes, Scary Movie certainly does the job.

Prepping for the new 2026 film. Expected this to feel super dated, but the unhinged roasting of 90s teen slashers totally still cracks me up.

What Worked:
• Anna Faris is brilliant; her natural innocence totally carries the movie.
• Seeing them perfectly recreate the suspense of Scream and flip it with absurd comedy honestly hit the spot.
• The Matrix bullet-time fight sequence totally popped on screen.

The Friction:
• The pacing really dragged for me in the middle, relying way too much on random pop culture gags.
• The crude shock humor got a bit repetitive and pulled me out of the nostalgic vibe.
• Brenda’s movie theater scene honestly just felt chaotic and went on too long.

Verdict:
Watch for campy, nostalgic laughs. Skip if crude shock humor annoys you.
