I really wanted to like this, but it felt more like a low-budget TV movie than a theatrical epic. It tries to be a blockbuster but falls flat.

The Director’s Eye:
The costume design isn't terrible, and Taylor James is built like a tank, fitting the physicality of Samson. As a man of faith, I appreciate the effort to bring Scripture to life. The core message remains: God uses broken, flawed people. Seeing Samson humble himself for redemption is moving. Billy Zane and Rutger Hauer bring needed weight to the screen.

The Cuts:
Historical errors took me out immediately—seeing corn and peppers (native to the Americas) in ancient Israel showed a lack of detail. The CGI is rough; the lion fight looked like early 2000s video game graphics. The script adds unnecessary filler and melodrama not found in the Bible, dragging the pace.

Verdict:
I admire the intent, but the execution is weak. Safe for church movie night if you lower expectations, but it’s a missed opportunity.

Favorite Line: "My strength does not come from me. It comes from the Lord."

Rubbish acting, rubbish writing

“Bro, what if we clone a Neanderthal Jurassic Park style and cross breed them with a Native American?” “Epic idea bro, now roll me another blunt.”
