I hate how it is set in modern times, with cars and guns but the script is still in full on Shakespearean English. My teacher made us watch it for English and I hate it. Ask anyone

I didn't understand what they were saying half of the time...maybe that's because I wasn't born in the 1500's.

The pool scene is the best on-screen kiss I’ve ever witnessed in film. WOW 😩 9th grade me was obsessed.

I want to like it / get it but I just cannot understand Shakespeare half the time. The language is so difficult for me to comprehend (and I literally have a degree in English🥲). It made me hard to enjoy this movie. I like the story & beautiful cinematography but not the language.

directorial style was unique, tho i really hated how the script kept the old english. i liked the concept just not the fact i couldnt understand shit. the storys pretty great and the picture really beautiful. acting didnt slip either. didnt miss the detail of their dying pose

This is how you adapt Shakespeare. Not for everyone but I loved it!
