so much stuff in this one. i knew this would be a contemplative art piece and, thus, expected to have questions. it was beautifully filmed, and it captured a powerful sense of melancholy that i really loved. really unique. great cast, as well. would recommend!

Incredible debut from Trier, he has a way of conveying sadness like no other.
The exploration of male friendship was the main takeaway for me, it’s tested, but ultimately prevailing through all of life’s struggles. It also delves pretty deeply into mental health, giving a hopeful insight into the struggles people go through, especially in the “art” world.
Anders Danielsen Lie is such a good actor, I’ve mainly seen him in Trier’s film’s but he’s magnetic each and every time. The whole cast was great, although I’m not familiar with them - shall keep an eye out now!
Very touching film, yet to be disappointed by one of Joachim’s films - hope this trend continues.
