being a young black (aa) woman i definitely see the parallels between my culture and mexican american culture especially with familial relationships such as mother/daughter. i really enjoyed this film and im satisfied with the ending, didn’t cry this time tho LOLLL

hated and rooted for both her and her mom at times it but it showed a real dynamic

Love love love this movie so amazing to see my culture and recognize the subtle and not so subtle ways that Hispanic culture values family to the detriment of the family lol I saw so much of my self in Ana and I’m so glad she was able to follow her dream

This whole movie was so real. The relationship between Ana and her mom is spot on for many girls, especially for me and other bigger girls. But the scene, THE SCENE, is when the women are comparing stretch marks ♡ "look how beautiful we are"
That altered my brain chemistry
