Raiders of the Lost Ark

It is a great movie considering the time it has been made.

I think a way to describe this movie is of its time for 81 this is fucking impressive it has good pacing and one the best action sequences in film but the story is down right cartoonish and the ending doesn’t leave you satisfied a good 8/10

Simply a classic. Perhaps the most iconic opening to a film ever?

It’s honestly just such a cool concept, I think we take it for granted now - and all the adjacent properties that followed by it’s example, but it really is just so neat. The script, beyond the concept, is terrific - dialogue is sharp, witty and often emotionally impactful.

Across his career, Harrison Ford has played so many iconic characters, but Indiana Jones is my personal favourite. Maybe it’s nostalgia, but regardless the character, and all the films, truly mean an incredible amount to me. John Rhys-Davies is great here too, always had a great fondness for Sallah.

I have no clue how many times I’ve seen this film, but never has it gotten old. I’ve owned it across virtually all formats, but seeing it in 4k HDR will never not blow me away by how outstanding it looks.

Timeless 8/10
