Never dull, bursting with energy, and sweetly hilarious, this delightful series of vignettes is a love letter to the America of the ‘40’s; a world that has since vanished in a haze of cigarette smoke.

Woody Allen’s homage to Amarcord. Really well done, and pretty funny, too—but I think there may be too many one-liners. And it might seem like a coming of age film, IMDb calls it a mockumentary, but it honestly feels most like a cozy, period comedy with, of course, great writing.

Couple funny moments, but story wise I couldn't get interested. Besides Aunt Bea, none of the characters were intriguing to me. It was cool seeing a lot of actors that I recognized tho

cute & nostalgic but overall too boring. there’s no overarching plot to speak of & feels more like a sitcom season smashed together into a movie. i liked learning about the role of radio in this time period but other than that this film was lacking.
