Deeply satirical commentary on conformity and life itself. Discusses the infantilization of mentally challenged individuals and how they are only limited by what limits others place on them. Offensive at times but also groundbreaking. A very interesting film. Flawed but unique.

I’m mixed between how problematic this movie was but at the same time ahead of it’s time since it’s 2002. So many controversial portrayals of disability and offensive language but also humanizing people with disabilities and their right to love. Also the soundtrack was elite.

I can’t tell if this movie was before its time or just extremely offensive. Like the screaming scenes and language was not ok. Like the beach scene?? She also didn’t love him she just pitied him. Idk how I feel entirely about this film so that’s why it’s a 5/10.

I truly don’t know how to feel because ok one hand it was so out of pocket but on the other hand it felt offensive and lowkey a little… I guess predatory? So it’s loving hwre for now
