What Baker excels at isn’t just achieving realism but recreating reality for what it is. With that, the improvised dialogue and the hand-held video shooting this could easily be mistaken for a documentary. It’s a very powerful story of nationality, fatherhood and second chances.

This is a pretty good movie by Sean Baker. Not at the highs of his later works but still had its moments
